Dr Azer has 15 years experience as a Clinical Psychologist working with individuals, groups and staff teams. She has specialised in trauma informed care and applied evidence based approaches to cultural competency and inclusive leadership. Dr Azer worked as Professional Lead for Training for Psychological services in the NHS and now works as Senior Lecturer and Equity Diversity and Inclusion Lead in a Russell group university. She has developed and delivered training to staff teams on reducing vicarious trauma, trauma informed cultural competency to improve client care and addressing the needs of minoritised staff. She also offers coaching, mentoring and safe spaces for minoritised staff and learners.
